  • Once you install OATS in your machine, you can see that each browser in your machine has OATS’s helper addon(s).
  • One of the default feature of firefox is that if a new addon is installed it checks if the installed addon is signed or not.
  • And because OATS browser helper addon for firefox is not a signed application, we see this issue.

Steps to enable OATS browser addon for firefox

  • Disable signatures required configuration in firefox browser.
  • Uninstall Browser Helpers with administrator privileges.
  • Install Browser Helpers with administrator privileges.

Disable the configuration “signatures required” in firefox browser

  • Launch your firefox browser.
  • Give about:config in the browser’s address bar and press enter.
  • Click the warning , I accept the risk button and go ahead.
  • Search for the setting “xpinstall.signatures.required” in the list of configurations.
  • Double click the row where this setting is displayed in the browser.
  • Make sure the value is now false for this setting.
  • Close the browser.
  • Uninstall browser helpers with administrator privileges.

    • Open command prompt with “Run As Administrator” option.
    • Navigate to folder c:\OracleATS\OpenScript\
    • Give the command UninstallBrowserHelpers.bat and press enter.
    • Before running this command, please make sure that we have closed all the browsers. Otherwise, command will popup a warning to close them and Retry.
    • Wait for the completion of command execution

    Install browser helpers with administrator privileges.

    • In the same command prompt, please give the command InstallBrowserHelpers.bat and press enter.
    • Wait for the completion of command execution
    • That is it, we are done with the steps to enable the OATS browser addon for firefox. You can go to browser’s addons and verify the same.

    At the end in order to avoid any unexpected issues, please do revert the “xpinstall.signatures.required” configuration value to true.

    i have the steps that you given in the top for enabling the webdom and i’m still facing the same issue. is there any alternative solutions ?

      Could you please first check in the docs where it shows the list of compatible browser versions for the current release of OATS.
