When trying to install openscript some times we see an issue like WebDom Browser Helper installation failed! Failed to unregister OpenScript IEToolbar DLL, as shown in the below image.
Troubleshooting can be done by performing below steps one after the other and it might get resolved at one place:
Step 1:
Click OK and continue the installation, we may see above popup appearing multiple times during the installation process, we just need to click OK and continue to finish the installation process.
- Close all your IE browsers if any are opened.
- Run the uninstall browser helper by executing below command in Command prompt C:\OracleATS\OpenScript\UninstallBrowserHelpers
- Delete the existing folder C:\OracleATS\OpenScript\Oracle IE toolBar
- Reinstall the browser helpers by executing below command in Command Prompt C:\OracleATS\OpenScript\InatallBrowserHelpers
In case this does not help, you can try step 2 and perform re perform step 1.
Step 2:
- Navigate to services panel, give services.msc command in windows run
- Look for Helper service of Oracle Applicaiton Testing Suite
- Open properties window by right clicking on the service and select Log On Tab
- Specify an interactive user who can run the Openscript and Click OK
- Restart service by right clicking the service and selecting the “Restart” menu item.
Note: Repeat the above steps for “Oracle Application Testing Suite Agent Service”
In case if it still doesn’t work final solution would be to reinstall openscript.
Request you to provide your valuable suggestions or feedback in form of comments, In case you have any other issues feel free to ask in form of comments, I would try my best to provide the troubleshooting steps.

Hi Srinivas,
Today, i have installed OATS 12.5.0.3 in Windows 7 machine with IE11 and i faced a strange issue. while installation it didn’t installed the IE tool bar extension itself and while trying to do it via IEhelper serivices, getting the below error and “Oracle IE ToolBar” folder is not creating. Please see the log file:

Installation – Failure!!
Is this a fresh install or a fresh install on this machine / laptop ?
If it is not a fresh install, I would recommend you to do a clean uninstall of Oracle Application Testing Suite ( a.k.a OATS ) and then install OATS with elevated privileges. I am sure you are aware of it.
Before installing OATS 12.5.0.3 , please verify if Chrome version is compatible, which otherwise please have the compatible Chrome version and proceed with installation.
Hi Srinivas,
I have uninstalled the prev version of OATS and followed all the steps from your article. While installing itself, i am getting the failure “Openscript installation error WebDom Browser Helper Installation failed” and showing “can not save multiple user execution settings for chrome native host in registry under key”hklm\software\google\chrome\nativemessaginhosts\oracle.openscript.hosts”.
I have uninstalled the chrome and tried installing openscript but while re-installign itself i am getting this error.
Hi Srinivas,
1. Resintaling the Browser helpers .
2. Changing the permissions for Helper and Agent in services .
3. Reinstalling the Openscript
I have done the steps 1 , 2 and 3 , but still I am getting the same error “Can’t enable IE toolbar”.
What might be the reason ?
Is it possible to go on a screen share for the same? It might be tricky some times and cannot be solved over comments.. you can reach out to me @ testingtools.co@gmail.com
Thank You,
Regards,
Srinivas P.
Hi Srinivas,
Im getting Incompatible Addons for IE11 after installation of OATS 13.1 Please Help me on this.
Hi Ajay,
Thank you for reaching out to us, Some times you may have to uninstall OATS and when installing OATS you have to run the setup file with Run As Administrator option.
If this does not work, you may have to uninstall the browser helpers and then install again as described in the article.
In case it doesn’t work still, it would be great if you can either create a video or come on a screen share. to see if it can be resolved.
Thank You,
Regards,
Srinivas P.
While installing OATS, i am getting the failure “Openscript installation error WebDom Browser Helper Installation failed” and showing “can not save multiple user execution settings for chrome native host in registry under key”hklm\software\google\chrome\nativemessaginhosts\oracle.openscript.hosts”.
Please do helpful ASAP
Hi Sri Mouni,
There might be multiple reasons for this:
1. Chrome browser version is not compatible with the OATS version – kindly verify with OATS Compatibility matrix
2. During the installation, you might have not used “Run As Administrator” option to install. We should always install OATS with Run As Administrator option.
If either of the above are not helping to solve your issue, kindly revert to us, i will try my best to help you.
hi srinivas,
im facimg same issue While installing OATS, i am getting the failure “Openscript installation error WebDom Browser Helper Installation failed” and showing “can not save multiple user execution settings for chrome native host in registry under key”hklm\software\google\chrome\nativemessaginhosts\oracle.openscript.hosts”.
i always install openscript in adminsitrator mode.please help me
This might be some firewall issues also, you will have to work with IT team to disable your firewall settings and then install OATS and then later enable the firewall settings from your anti virus.
